I have owned my KINTREX IRT0421 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer with Laser Targeting since May of 2008.

Originally I had purchased it to check the temperatures of syrups and sauces when cooking. I saw Alton Brown do it on a few Good Eats episodes, and I knew that I had to have one. Eventually, I realized that I could also use it on my grill, too!

After that worked out so well, I purchased another one for my computer shop. I own a computer consulting service and computer repair shop and I am regularly required to check the temperatures of hot computer peripherals. Touching a hot computer components not only puts your fingers at risk, but can also damage the computer with static electricity if you are not properly grounded.

In other words, I have some experience in using the KINTREX IRT0421 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer with Laser Targeting, and I never get tired of using it.

The KINTREX IRT0421 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer with Laser Targeting only uses 2 AAA batteries, but they seem to last a LONG time. I have only had to change batteries in my unit at home a total of 2 times in the year and half that I have owned it.

The KINTREX IRT0421 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer feels solid and comfortable in the hands, too. I have used some similar tools that feel so light it gives you the impression of using a child's toy. Not the KINTREX IRT0421. You can tell that it's well-built.

The KINTREX IRT0421 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer can measure temperatures up to 932 degrees and with it's large, backlit LCD you will never have a problem reading the display.

Needless to say, the KINTREX IRT0421 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer has a million different uses, anything from cooking to automotive troubleshooting. If you bored, you can can even check the different temperatures of stuff around the home (your black dashboard on a hot July day... is it really hot enough to fry an egg on?).

Even our cat, Ebony, loves the KINTREX IRT0421 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer, but it probably has more to do with the laser light that she so fond of chasing around the living room (yes, it's also an expensive cat toy).

The only thing that I do not use the KINTREX IRT0421 for, is checking for thermal leaks around doors, windows, and other openings. I use the Black & Decker TLD100 Thermal Leak Detector for that, which is similar... but different.

Otherwise, if you are in need of detecting the temperature of food, computer components, freezer/refrigerator interiors, heating ducts, engine blocks, and any other assortment of heat (or cold) producing objects... you have to purchase the KINTREX IRT0421 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer with Laser Targeting. Just buy it. For under $50, it's an absolute steal.
