Is a Cell Phone Screen Protector Really Necessary?

Whether you own an iPhone, HTC, Droid, Nexus, Nokia, Palm Pre, Blackberry or whatever... you probably want to protect your investment with a cell phone screen protector.

Even if you did only pay $99 for it by signing a 2 year contract, a big scratch on your brand new cell phone is guaranteed to ruin even your best day.

Not only is a blemish on the face of your new phone disappointing, but it's also not fun to look at when viewing photos, videos or Internet. It just makes your expensive cell phone look cheap and old, even if it was far from neither.

I should know. My first generation iPhone got scratched about 2 months after I purchased it. It wasn't a bad scratch, but it was a scratch, nonetheless. It was yet another mark of irresponsibility on top of my $400+ splurge. It wasn't the most expensive lesson I had ever learned, as it didn't ruin the phone or anything, but it was still a lesson learned.

Since I already had a scratch on it, I didn't bother getting a cell phone screen protector for it. "What would be the point?" I thought, shrugging my shoulders. My iPhone bounced around in my coat pocket for almost 2 years, receiving numerous scratches and dings on the screen.

I still loved using it, but didn't care much for it's looks after a while.

When I purchased my second iPhone (3 months ago), I invested in a cell phone screen protector this time. But, not just any old screen protector.

I loved the look of my new iPhone, and I didn't want to change the look of my phone by covering it up with a bulky case. I wanted to keep it sleek, shiny and beautiful. So, I purchased an iPhone cell phone screen protector from BodyGuardz.

Wow Is All I Can Say

Now, I'm not going to sit here and tell you that I put my new iPhone in a Cuisinart blender to test the toughness of myBodyGuardz cell phone screen protector.  But, I will say that I have carried my iPhone around in my pocket quite a bit already, and it doesn't have a single blemish.  Not a speck.

Apparently (according to the website), BodyGuardz makes phone screen protector covers for almost any phone ever made.  They make LCD protectors for iPods and other MP3 players, too.  I am even thinking about getting one of thier LCD covers for my laptop, as well.  Not because I'm afraid of my laptop LCD getting scratched, but more because I'm a geek.

Conclusion

So, if you have purchased a phone, and it's still in pristine condition (and you want to keep it that way) check out BodyGuardz. Or, if you are thinking about getting a new phone, and you already know which one you are getting, order your BodyGuardz cell phone screen protector in advance, so you can put it on your phone right away. Doing so will keep your phone looking brand new for a long time.

Nice piece. Good advice. Great writing. You need more fans! What is up with that? Nice title, hopefully the search engines will bring in some extra readers. I wonder if they make them for my DS? I've given up on the nintendo versions... couldn't get the buggers on. So far I've kept the screen nice. I'll have to check on it.

Yeah. I do need more fans! Dang! What's up with that? LOL.

Thanks for the compliment, JBeadle. I enjoy and look forward to your writing as well.

And, by the way, I just checked the website, and they do have covers for your Nintendo DS and DSi. $24.95 and in stock (at the time of this writing).
