Are the Sennheiser Noise Canceling Headphones Really Worth the Money?
You could call me a bit of audiophile, but I don't consider myself as such.
However, I have some nice sound equipment, I'm a bit of a geek, I have a record collection, a nice turntable... and, oh yeah... I enjoy good audio.
So, call it what you will.
I purchased these particular Sennheiser noise canceling headphones because I was going on a trip back east to visit my folks, and its almost a 3 hour plane ride, each way.
My goal was to find a comfortable set of noise canceling headphones that were affordable, effective, comfortable, and PORTABLE.
My collection of sound gear already includes a couple of nice sets of noise cancelling headphones, but I was looking for an affordable set that wouldn't break my bank account. After all, I had just purchased a plane ticket and was feeling a monetary pinch.
After doing some extensive research on the Internet (like I always do before making any purchase above $10), I settled on the Sennheiser noise canceling headphones... Model number PXC-250 to be exact.
The PXC-250 Sennheiser noise canceling headphones seemed to offer the best blend of portability, form, function for a great price. The PXC-250 actually folded up to fit neatly in the included carrying case, similar to a pair of sunglasses.
Long story short, my trip went great. I was lucky enough to be in a plane with an LCD in the back of every seat so I was able to watch Terminator 3 with my new Sennheiser noise canceling headphones! They blocked the roar of the engine noise, the crying of a baby, and some big guy snoring in the seat next to me. I just plugged in my new PXC-250's into the stereo headphone jack and didn't miss a word of the movie!
