The Keurig B60 - Ideal for the Office (or Single Person Apartment)

I purchased my first Keurig Mini Brewers "K Cup" Coffee Maker back when I was single. This was absolutely perfect, since I usually had a cup or two (usually one) before going to work in the morning. It made a perfect 8 oz cup of coffee every time, without fail.

Although I can't remember the model number of my little 1 cup coffee maker, I do remember that it was kind of loud. That was okay back then, since I lived alone and didn't have to worry about waking anyone in the early hours of the morning.

Also, the model that I had only gave me 8 ounces. As coffee cups became larger, 8 oz just didn't seem like very much.

Despite the few drawbacks to that old trusty Keurig model, it served me well for a few years as a bachelor and lover of good, fresh coffee.

Now, I'm married with children... and it's different.

It just wasn't ideal since my wife and I both drink coffee in the morning (and sometimes at night). So we needed a different brewer (we now use the Cuisinart DCC-1200 at home). I packed up my old Keurig and put it away. I hated to retire my old friend, but it was time to move on.

The Introduction of the Keurig B60 Special Edition 1 Cup Coffee Maker

When I was hired by a local computer company, I had my own little "personal" cubical.

The cubicle had a lot of workspace, and I had lots of outlets. Not to mention the free coffee the company provided was horrible (I don't think that anyone was responsible for cleaning the machine or the coffee pot).

Finally, after tryting to suffer through a few weeks of drinking the company-provided coffee, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I dusted off the old Keurig, so I took it into the office to serve as my own 1 cup coffee maker.

That lasted about 2 days.

My old Keurig was so loud that it drew a lot of attention. I could tell that people were interested at first, but on the second day they were just annoyed. Personally, I don't blame them. It was a small office, and people had work to do. Unfortunately, my old Keurig 1 cup coffee maker had no place in my new office. I decided to give it away to another budding coffee aficionado at work (he was young single guy and lived an apartment).

I found the Keurig B60 Special Edition at an online retailer and after reading the reviews, decided to give it a shot. The reviews said that it was very quiet and perfect for an office. I decided "What the heck?", and ordered it.

When I unpacked the box, I was very impressed with the weight of the unit. It seemed very solid. When I plugged it in, the blue lighting was very nice. So far, very good purchase! But, I didn't buy it for the looks... I bought it to serve as my 1 cup coffee maker, not sit on the counter as eye candy.

Since it came with an 18 pack of K-cups, I decided to make a cup to test it.

So, after running a little vinegar and few rounds of distilled water through the unit, I put a K-cup in the unit and brewed my first cup. What I noticed about this unit (as opposed to my last Keurig) was that I had 3 cup sizes to choose from.

Also, true to the description on the sales page, it was significantly more quite than my old faithful Keurig workhorse.

My first cup of coffee from my new Keurig B60 Special Edition was just as good as I expected it to be. No complaints. As a side note: Unfortunately, it was 9:30 at night when I did this, and the K-cup was NOT decaff. I wasn't able to sleep until 1 am.

Long story short, I've had my Keurig B60 Special Edition in my office for over 4 years. It does not disturb anyone around me, and brews a perfect 5.25, 7.25, or 9.25 oz single cup of coffee every time without fail.

Although it's not why I bought it, my new Keurig B60 Special Edition garners comments all the time about how amazing it looks. It does look very sexy, if I do say so myself. The black casing, the chrome and the blue backlit LCD make my little 1 cup coffee maker a real hit about the office.
