If you have ever had a universal remote before, you already know what a blessing and a curse it can be. Yes, it makes it easier to control multiple remotely controlled devices, but it's also a chore to set up.

Also, the number of devices is limited to 4 or 5 at the most. So, you have the television, the DVD player, the surround sound system, the cable box... and then, oops. You're out of buttons.

The Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote changes all of that.

It is literately "One Remote To Rule Them All", and is a breeze to set up and use.

First of all, the remote can control up to 15 devices. This allows for almost every wireless appliance in your home to be controlled with a single remote. In the age of flat screen televisions, Blu-Ray players, DVRs, and home theater sound systems this remote is absolutely essential.

Did I mention how easy this remote is to configure? I probably did, but I'll touch on that again. The remote is connected to your computer and configured with the software that ships in the box. The interface is very user-friendly and as long as you know the model number of the wireless component you are trying to add (it's usually on the front of the wireless component) setup is surprisingly fast. It took me less than 10 minutes to setup 7 wireless devices, including my old VCR player that I still keep around!

Sometimes, It'sThe Little Things...

Yes, sometimes it IS the little things that make life better.

I'm not talking about just the remote. I'm really referring to the easily overlooked details that many people may take for granted on this amazing remote.

The touchscreen: In the age of touchscreen phones, music players and even cameras... it's about time we have a touchscreen device that makes our television and movie-watching experience better. It's one of the main selling features of this remote, but it's not just for looks. It really does make this remote a lot easier to use.

The backlit buttons: I always liked the look of backlit buttons on my Mac. But, since I already know how to type (by feel), it really wasn't an essential feature. However, the backlit buttons on the Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote is a whole different story. If you've ever had to get up to turn on the light just to change the channel remotely (ironic isn't it?) you know how frustrating this can be.

It's rechargable: The Logitech Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote doesn't need a slew of AA or AAA batteries to work. Just put it on the charger at night when you are done for the evening, and wake up the next day to a fully charged remote.

It's sexy as hell: I'm not going to lie. The Logitech Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote is a work of art. My family loves me for buying it. My friends and neighbors are envious. I think that one of my buddies comes over to the house just to play with the remote. It's sleek, black, with contoured backlit buttons and a color LCD touchscreen. There is even an inexpensive add-on that will allow your Logitech Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote to control the PS3! What more can you possible want in a remote?

If you are still using more than one remote for your home entertainment, order this remote now. You will NOT be disappointed.
