That's why when someone says POTLUCK, I'm all in.
Before I purchased the Hamilton Beach 33162H Stay Or Go 6 Quart Slow Cook, things were complicated.
I had to take the estimated time of the potluck, and our estimated time of arrival and use that to determine how long the food might be sitting on the table getting cold.
After factoring in drive-time, we usually decided to fix a pasta salad... which is usually easier to keep cold in a cooler full of ice.
Unfortunately, that eliminated a lot of great hot dishes from the list of possible selections.
Not any more.

All we do is cook it up as we normally would (typically right in the slow cooker). The stoneware retains a lot of heat, so it keeps the food hot on the way to the party or gathering. Then, once we arrive, we just plug it back in. It's so simple.
Like many people with their first cooker, I often wonder how the heck we managed so long without one of these! Why didn't I get one 10 years ago?
