This is a review of the Wagner 905 Steam Cleaner.

If you have already read a few of my other articles, you already know that I a bit of a clean freak.

It's not quite to an OCD level, but it is definitely noticeable to those around me.

For example, I literally cannot touch a bathroom door handle. I will use a paper towel, toilet paper, or my shoe... but, I will not use my hands.

Also, the thought of dust mites creep me out so bad that I can barely sleep sometimes. There was a period about 5 years ago that I couldn't even sleep on a bed without a dust mite proof mattress cover (I am finally over that one for the most part).

Needless to say, I have various assortment of tools and cleaning methods that allow me to live a happy, stress-free life.

The Wagner 905 1,500-Watt On-Demand Power Steamer and Cleaner is one of them.

Roughly 18 months ago, when doing my research online before purchasing the Wagner 905, it seems that most people who purchased this product did so to remove wall-paper.

Since I do not have wall-paper to remove, and was purchasing the Wagner 905 for the purpose of cleaning, I didn't really have much to go on. But, it was a good deal, and got some good reviews, so I took a risk and purchased it.

I am so glad I did.

The Wagner 905 1,500-Watt On-Demand Power Steamer and Cleaner has been a dream come true. It does exactly what it claims to do, and makes my job of cleaning a lot easier.

Soap scum is no longer "the devil", since my Wagner 905 Wagner 905 Steamer and Cleaner cuts through it like butter, with no need for harsh, abrasive cleaners and/or scrubbing.

Oh yeah... and cleaning the grout? This thing is amazing with the special little attachment that Wagner provides. The wife and I used to think that our grout was white after cleaning it, but you can really see the dramatic difference after using the Wagner 905 1,500-Watt On-Demand Power Steamer and Cleaner.

If you grill, like I do, you will love cleaning your grill with the Wagner 905 1,500-Watt On-Demand Power Steamer and Cleaner. I use it after I grill to keep my various assortment of smokers, fryers, grills (gas and charcoal) looking like new.

Don't get the wrong idea, this Steam Cleaner is not perfect. In fact, it has a few shortcomings that I will mention here, as I lay out the pros and cons:

Pros:

  • The Wagner 905 1,500-Watt Steamer and Cleaner will get out those difficult stains with a fraction of the effort.
  • The attachments and nozzles that Wagner provides is perfect (but I have never used the wall-paper attachment, so I cannot comment on that one).
  • The hose is nice and long for cleaning a large area without having to roll it around.

Cons:

  • It does not have a carrying handle of any sort (very weird... what were they thinking?)
  • It could have been built better. After 18 months, mine is showing some wear... It's a good thing that didn't pay much for it.
  • I can't think of a third "con".

Now let me touch upon the cons really quickly...

The lack of a carrying handle was not a real deal-breaker. You can still lift it, but it's just awkward. Taking it up and down stairs with water in it is simply out of the question. The next model steamer/cleaner will certainly have a handle.

Also, this machine only has a 1 year warranty, and that is exactly how it was built (if you know what I'm saying). I've had my Wagner 905 for about a year and half, and I will be lucky to get another 6 months out of it. However, on the bright side, I paid less than $100 for it, so I feel that I received far more than my money's worth.

In conclusion, if you like things clean and do not have a ton of money to spend, pick up the Wagner 905 1,500-Watt On-Demand Power Steamer and Cleaner. Just don't expect it to last for more than about 18 months and you will be very happy.

Read the entire title: "Do Not Purchase...Until You Read This". :)

I also own the Wagner 905. Mine is about 2 years old and it's showing it's age, but given the cheap price I can't complain much. It's a small investment for two year's worth of sanity (I'm also a "clean freak" type).

To the person who is discounting the entire article because of a few typos... Come on! Really? This guy's obviously not a professional writer, but it's still a great article.
