DeLonghi PAC C120 Portable 12,000-BTU Single Room Air Conditioner Review

When it's HOT, make sure your family is NOT
I recently published a hub that told of how a innocent purchase of a portable, single room air conditioner inadvertently brought my wife, the kids and I together for some unexpected family bonding.
So, in this hub, I decided to give you a few more details about the air conditioner itself.
A few years ago (back in 2005, I believe), I had purchased the Haier HPAC9M Portable Single Room Air Conditioner for my small office.
However, my office is small, so the 9,000 BTU that the Haier HPAC9M Portable Single Room Air Conditioner had was more than sufficient for that room.
It worked so well, in fact, that I was very tempted to get another on for my home... but, the rooms in my home were just a little too large for a 9,000 BTU unit.
So, after doing about 2 week's worth of research, I decided on the DeLonghi PAC C120 Portable 12,000-BTU Single Room Air Conditioner.
I am sure glad I did.
The money I spent on the DeLonghi PAC C120 Portable 12,000-BTU Single Room Air Conditioner was best money I spent all summer... well worth every single penny (and I did NOT get any sort of discount when I purchased ours).
The unit itself includes several features that make it very versatile.
First of all, it has a remote control, making it easy to change the speed of the fan without even getting up out of my recliner. Nice!
There is also a 24 hour programmable timer, which allows you to set it to cool off the living room right before you get home in the afternoon. Very nice!
The LCD is a nice touch, and makes it very easy to program (and operate in general).
It even has a dehumidifying mode (takes moisture out of the air), which we do NOT use, because here in Colorado we have low humidity anyway.
For those who would want to dehumidify a room, you'll be happy to know that this unit is "dripless", meaning that you will have no bucket to empty (emptying a bucket several times per day can be a pain).
Another very nice feature that I didn't not expect the DeLonghi PAC C120 Portable 12,000-BTU Single Room Air Conditioner to have was the air filter, which filters the air as it runs. I didn't buy this single room air conditioner to make our air cleaner... but, it's an awesome bonus.
In conclusion, if you in the same boat that I was in several years ago, check out the DeLonghi PAC C120 Portable 12,000-BTU Single Room Air Conditioner. It's a solid performer, with nice features, and has proven to provide our family with more than we expected.
