I received my Cuisinart Grind and Brew Coffee Maker (The Cuisinart DGB-700BC Grind and Brew, to be exact) last Christmas.

So, after a year of solid daily use (sometimes more than once per day), I can honestly say it's one of the best coffee makers I've ever owned.

This thing is built to last. It's solid, beautiful (brushed chrome), and is rock-solid dependable. When a manufacturer puts a a 3-year warranty on a product, it means that they have some confidence in it.

Like my dad, I enjoy my coffee strong. You know, the kind of strong that really opens your eyes in the morning. So strong you'd probably have to eat it with a spoon if it wasn't so hot. Yeah, you know what I'm talking about.

My Cuisinart Grind and Brew Coffee Maker grinds the coffee beans with a burr grinder so the coffee that comes out is fresh, strong and absolutely delicious.

Of course, if you don't like your coffee as strong as I do, you change the strength with a small selection setting right on the Cuisinart Grind and Brew Coffee Maker: strong, medium or mild.

Also, the hopper for the beans is sealed... so, even if you have the timer set to grind the beans in the morning, the full flavor of the coffee bean is still intact until going into your coffee.

Speaking of taste, the Cuisinart Grind and Brew Coffee Maker has a special activated charcoal filtration system that purifies the water before it mixes with the fresh grounds to make your pot of coffee. This process is used to ensure that what you are tasting is nothing but pure coffee (and not coffee mixed with iron, lead, pesticides and other contaminants and/or smells).

Another awesome thing about this Cuisinart Grind and Brew Coffee Maker (and is also fairly standard on most Cuisinart coffee makers) is the commercial-grade permanent mesh coffee filter. That's right... no more wet paper filter mess. The grounds go into the garden from now on, and the environment is a better place.

Although this Cuisinart Grind and Brew Coffee Maker does NOT have any negatives in my book, you do have to CLEAN the machine about once per month to keep it operational. This is just part of grinding coffee beans.

Many people complain about having to actually clean their Cuisinart Grind and Brew Coffee Maker, but I think anyone who cares about his or her appliances will clean them anyway. You clean your stove, your oven, your microwave, your fridge... right? So, what's the problem with cleaning your coffee maker?

If you read reviews on this Cuisinart Grind and Brew Coffee Maker, don't be misled by a few negative reviews. Keep in mind that most satisfied owners will stay quiet, but the few disgruntled ones howl to the heavens.

Just clean your machine once per month and you'll be fine.

Nice review of the twelve cup model. Right now you can get the DGB-650BC model at 50% off with an additional $30 mail in rebate. This is a 10 cup model and may be the best all round grind and brew coffee maker on the market.

Hi I love my coffee maker I only have one question. why does this machine grind the exact same amount of beans for mild medium and strong it seems like a waste of costly beans
